The League

Caught the movie at Bugis with Ming yesterday. It was rather cool, the way they intertwined different literary characters. But you really need some knowledge with regards to the characters to enjoy the show better. Quartermain's remarks were typically english, succint and curt. There was one part that was so unbearably lame that I made a loud " Sheesh!" in the theater.

M was leading Quartermain down some flights of stairs into the basement and Quartermain was asking him where they were heading. Australia? (down under.... DUH!!!) Sheesh! Really! But rather clever I must say.

And to those who have read "The picture of Dorian Gray" by Oscar Wilde, they can really appreciate him saying "I'm complicated..." in the movie. That's typical Gray- aloof, uninterested and uncaring.

Overall, the movie is rather thrilling, the effects are nice though the story line is a little threadbare. Don't catch it on a weekend if you're hard up. Ain't worth the eight bucks. Catch it on a weekday when it's cheaper.
