Sad.

Damn! The ground floors for the chalets are all taken up. Dang! Will have to modify my plans a little.

Damn!

Ulterior Motive

Between men and women there is no friendship possible. There is passion, enmity, worship, love, but no friendship.” ~Oscar Wilde~

Heh. Kinda true man. Takes a genius to put it into simple words like Wilde can. Come to think of it. People of the opposite sex can never be friends just like that. *Snaps fingers* Platonic relationship? Seems so idealistic.

It’s just not the same. You can throw a bunch of people of the same sex together and *poof* friends already. Especially so with guys. Just look at NS men. With members of the opposite sex, attraction/repulsion comes first I guess. Something about the opposite party has to arouse your interests. Looks leading to lust, brilliance leading to worship etc. You get the picture.

What I’m trying to say at 1230 in the morning is….. I agree with him. Do you?

Goodness! I'm A Blood Sucker.

Heh. Saw an interesting quiz on Sam's Blog. Tried it out. The result's below. Hmmm... Some parts are really accurate, like "While you may sometimes find yourself lonely, you
have strong ties with people that will never be broken
." However, "You may be a little idealistic, but you are very grounded and down to earth." is so not true at all. Heh. I'm too severe a case of being a dreamer. *Hiak Hiak*

vamp
You are Form 9, Vampire: The Undying.

"And The Vampire was all that remained on
the blood drowned creation. She attempted to
regrow life from the dead. But as she was
about to give the breath of life, she was
consumed in the flame of The Phoenix and the
cycle began again."

Some examples of the Vampire Form are Hades (Greek)
and Isis (Egyptian).
The Vampire is associated with the concept of
death, the number 9, and the element of fire.
Her sign is the eclipsed moon.

As a member of Form 9, you are a very realistic
individual. You may be a little idealistic,
but you are very grounded and down to earth.
You realize that not everything lasts, but you
savor every minute of the good times. While
you may sometimes find yourself lonely, you
have strong ties with people that will never be
broken. Vampires are the best friends to have
because they are sensible.

Total Trashz

Trash! That's it is! The NEWpaper has gotten from bad to worse. I was flippin thru it just now when I realised it's becoming more of the ADpaper. Esp HpADpaper. Pages and pages of handphone services ads! What's up with that. It costs as much as the Straits Time, yet the content?!?!?!? Horrible.

Boycott it! Boycott it I say!

Bad Boys

“That is the worst of women. They always want one to be good. And if we are good, when they find us, they don’t love us at all. They like to find us irretrievably bad, and to leave us quite unattractively good.” ~Oscar Wilde~

Heh, very well said eh? I thought so too.

Headache

About time to ponder about my upcoming bday celebration. Don’t think it’ll be a barbeque. Most prob it’ll be a buffet (yes yes I know it’s such a cliché). Think it’ll be held in Downtown East. Make it a jc class chalet or something. Heh. Oh well. *Shrugs* See how. Any suggestions? Tag it ok? Thanks a million.

Shiraz?!?!?! *Scratches Head*

Just got back from Uncle’s. Met there for a dinner gathering. Uncle’s a great cook I tell you. All the queer and exotic sounding dish he can whip up using the simplest of ingredients. Quite a feast I must add! Had some wine too. His collection is rather extensive. Comparable to Lucas’ dad’s.

All those profound names for the different kind of wine. *Shakes head* Totally eludes me man. So I just sat there sipping quietly, wine appreciation isn’t one of my fortes. Totally lost among the weird names.

Haiz. No program for tml. So uneventful. Hope something crops up man. Will loathe spending it at home.

Monkey Business

Ah… the year of the monkey is finally upon us. Really like the Chinese New Year, there’s lots of food, lots to drink, lots of junk food and lotsa friends and relatives to catch up with.

There’s so much cleaning to do leading up to the lunar new year. Re-varnished all the doors in the house! Was rather fun, ok maybe not fun, but I really din find it a chore. Have always enjoyed doing craftwork or just anything where I can use my hands. Rather therapeutic, just sitting there, hours on end, concentrating on something. Totally ignoring others.

The first day of the lunar new year was rather laid back. Just visited the two gran’s. Had a blast with my cousins, just sitting there teasing and joking. Oh! Dawn, who saw Chengmei and me out the other day, commented that Chengmei’s pretty. Haha. Just sat there and totally pigged out. Need to hit the gym soon. Had tequila that night, everyone totally eased up and we had a blast.

The second day was intense man. Woke up bright and early to help mommy with the cooking and preparations. Our extended family get together every year and this year was our turn to be hosts. Haha… let’s just say that the Lim family is HUGE…

Our five rooms flat was packed to the brim! And for those who have been to my place, you guys know how big it is. It’s one of those extremely roomy old estates kinda flat. A few hours into the gathering, some of them had to chat out at the corridor. The kitchen was packed, my room turned into a playground for the toddlers. (Thank goodness no one barfed on my bed) The study room turned into a gambling den. Hiak hiak hiak.

It was good. Hectic, but good nonetheless.

I look old.

I must be! Really, so many people just handed out ang baos to my OLDER cousins beside me and just smiled at me.

Hee, not that I mind. It’s kinda cool in a way.

Flying Without Wings.

The teens/peers wanted to play black jack. And the adults were busy with their high stakes card games. So guessed who became the banker?

Yours truly.

And I lost. Ninety bucks in all. Just flew away like this. *snaps finger* Will have to survive on pineapple tarts for the rest of the month.

Sicko? Me?

Haha. Isit sick calling an older married woman a hottie?

Was talking to Felicia, about my cousin’s wife.

I think she’s a real babe! No! REALLY! Haha. My cousin’s around my dad’s age, it’s one of those complicated Bei4 Fen4 issue. Anyway, I grew up playing at my cousin’s place. So both families are real tight.

Anyway, married women should look up to her. She had twins and a daughter, three kids in all. But trust me on this when I say you couldn’t tell. Haha when she brings the kids out, people think she’s the elder sister. Think she looks only a lil over thirty.

Digress a bit here. Remember a few months/years back when Macdonald’s had an advertisement featuring lotsa twins? Well, her sons were in it. Haha.

Anyway, we were talking and suddenly she went to mommy asking if she can be my godma. *Boo hoo* so touched, for the first time in my life *sniffles sniffles* Someone actually like me. Muahahahaha.

Eh think she forgot abt it, I’m her cousin. Eh, so it was a no go. Oh well, *shrugs* just too bad. She kinda made me promised to only address her as sister. Haha.

Fel was rather crazy last night. Suggested that she (my “sister”) can always be my sugah mommy.

Bear-sized Eye Bags.

Met bear in the morning to collect the vodka from her. Been sitting in the bear cave for a long time, and mummy bear was nagging. So I went to get it from her. Lest mommy bear gets crossed with me. Anyway, Sandra looked tired.

Haha, passed Sandra her long over-dued Xmas present. It’s a Christian pop cd! Hope she likes it. Slipped a little ang pao in side too. Hee

Only remembered that I forgot to pay her after I came home. Bummer.

Little Red Riding Hood and The Three Little Pigs

This is going to be about Saturday. Like I said in the previous blog, met Miss Zhang while waiting for Miss Goh. Went to catch “Payback” with Miss Goh. Damn it’s freezing at Jade Theater. Grrrr…

Haha the movie’s fine. Uma Thurman is so gorgeous! Haha. Love her sharp nose and hair… it’s just so darn sexy! Women I love… Angelina Jolie, Milla Jovovich, Lucy Liu and Uma Thurman! *Eyes glazes over and drools*

Haha, walked around a bit before Miss Goh had to leave to meet her friends. Headed back, stopped over at jurong to get dinner for the family. Guess whom I ran into there?

Miss Chew!

And I almost didn’t recognize her. She looked different man. She looked… (I never thought I would say this but…) bad. Real bad. Really tired. Really drained.

Din hear me calling out to her. So I had to back tracked a little. Even then, when she turned at her name. There was this five-second lag, as she looked at me before going very softly, “Oh… Mike… Hi.”

She looked that tired. Had a “what the heck am I doing here when I could be sleeping at home” kind of face. I swore she wouldn’t even notice if Little Red Riding Hood and The Three Little Pigs walked right across her path.

Said hi, talked for a lil while and I had to rush off. Family was waiting for dinner. Hmmm something kinda stuck. Didn’t feel that hungry anymore. Maybe… Maybe it’s because I’ve never seen her so drained before. So much so it was kinda perplexing. There was an impulse to give her a reassuring pat on her arm.

But I didn’t.

I mustn’t.

Sunny SUNDAY!

Sunday! Yay! Met Miss Chew and her friend Wei Hearng for “Love me if you dare”. Cool movie. Though it was a bit sic at times. Talk about a game taken too seriously. *Chortles* Anyway, was kinda touching overall. The idea of true love overcoming all, marriage included. If you find out years down the road that your heart has always been with another, so what if you are married? Will your kids and wife bog you down? Or will you pursue your true loved like he did?

Had to agree with Christine that it was disturbing at times though. Many occasions, just hard to point them out specifically. The movie was great, but disturbing, Or rather disturbingly great. Hmmm….

Definitely worth the eight bucks… and crawling out of bed so early to catch it.

Can’t believe that I failed to notice her straight hair the day before. Great change! *Gives the thumbs up* looked very refreshing! Oh she looked much chirpier. Think it’s sleep. Haha. The marvel of youth, sleep is all we need. (Though women will beg to differ)

Guess what? Peanut got me a book of Wilde’s quotes! Yay! And a cd full of songs. Well…. There was a lil mixed up. Will sort it out soon.

Oh! Wei Hearng was so darn quiet. He reminds me…. of… Mark when I hang out with Fang and Mark. Hmmm… *grins* Fang! You know what I mean don’t you?

Island Life, I Love It!

Headed to Sentosa after that. Chee Hong’s bday. That guy’s 21 already. Gawd I feel old. Had fun! Great seeing all of em again. Chufang, Lingzhi, Weinee, Huiqing. Haiz. The rest of the guys sorta stood him up. Gawd I feel so out of place. Thorn among the roses. Haha.

Pretty muched walked around the entire island talking and catching up. And discussing how to celebrate our 21st. Mine’s next. Stressed already.

The party was cool. The choc cake absolutely divine. Sinful man. Haiz… Pure decadence I tell you. From Coffee bean and the Tea Leaf. *makes a mental note to self*

The party only lacked a single item…. Booze. Hahaha okok I’m kiddin. It was lovely.

Forever

A cynic is a man who knows the price of everything and the value of nothing. And a sentimentalist, is man who sees an absurd value in everything, and doesn’t know the market price of any single thing.” ~Oscar Wilde~

What are you?

For I know for sure I am a sentimentalist.

I’ve never been good with good byes, slow to part with memories (never, to be frank). I’m a dreamer. And that sorta unnerves me at times. Can I survive? In this world? So far I am, but that doesn’t mean I’m doing a great job of it. If a sentimentalist goes by what Wilde made him out to be, he sounds like one who can’t even feed himself.

My problem (as pointed out by some close friends) is that I don’t know how to let go. Of people, of relationship, of happy stuff, of unhappy incidents.

“When you fall in love, you give away a part of yourself you can never take back.”

I remember saying that to a friend of mine once. I can’t remember for sure who that person is.

And I realized how true the statement is again last Saturday. Was waiting for Miss Goh on the train platform when I saw… Miss Zhang. For the info of people who don’t know, Miss Zhang was the first/last girl who has had the fortune/misfortune to get into a relationship with me. It’s been a good four years already. Somehow, we’ve managed to keep out of contact with one another. Trust me, I’ve tried to. It just didn’t happen.

Anyway, I digressed. The sight of her somehow “affected” my entire day. Till now, I’m still not sure if she “spoilt” it or “made” my day. On one hand it was great to see her again… from a distance. Nice to know that she’s doing well, didn’t get ran over by a car etc etc (oh! Did I mention she panics on roads?)

I didn’t go up to her. I didn’t know what to say to her. So I just walked around and looked. She still looks pretty much the same. With the exception of longer hair and the missing spectacles. Am not sure if she recognizes me. Then again no one does these days. I have no idea why. Anyway, caught her looking over a few times. I dunno man.

Am just affected.

Tired

Been out the whole day. Caught a movie with Miss Chew and Wei hearng in the morning. Spent the day in Sentosa thereafter. Shall not go into details as yet.

Oh! Peanut’s Xmas pressies are socks and a pair of earrings. Finally managed to pass it to her.

Sleepy. Signing off for now.

Sloth-ish

Hi, I feel lazy. Ok ok. I AM lazy. The mood to sit down and churn out pages of thoughts and feelings hasn't struck in quite a while. Yes, I do still have my occasional moment of "brilliance" whereby great ideas struck. It's just that.... Just that.... I'm lazy. There! I've said it! Happy?

So meanwhile, you guys will have to be contented with simple, short, occasional entries. So sorry. Bear with me.

Mine! Gimme!

Oh boy oh boy! Gawd! I feel like a kid with a secret! Absolutly buzzling with excitement! A friend of mine *winks winks* let me in on something and it is all so bri-lli-ant!!! Shall be selfish and keep it to ourselves for now. Haha Sshhh!

Finally.

At long last, blogger’s fixed. Had me worried for a while. Was kinda afraid they might suddenly shut it down or something. Then everything I said/have to say will be gone forever. Glad that everything’s fine. To those who smsed and asked if I removed or shifted my blog? I didn’t ok? It’s back. Go ahead and bore yourself. *Grins*

WTF

There is something wrong man... Either with Blogger or with my com. I can't view my own page man! And my friends pages too! Whenever I try to access any page, all I get is the Blogger Login page. This is very fustrating! I can upload but I can't see the final product. What the f***!

Am tempted to put my fist through the screen. Fuck anger manangement.

Orange!

Guess what? Made a new pair of specs! Haha Was trying for a nerd-punk look. So settled for black frames with orange lenses. Wanted glaring fluorescent yellow initially, but the optician refused to sell it to me. He’s mommy’s old friend. They knew each other for ages. Since sec school apparently.

Anyway, he refused to sell me yellow lenses. Apparently the glare isn’t good. So settled for a very subtle (almost barely visible) orange tinge. So there go my plans to collect specs with colors of the rainbow.

He said that colors at the beginning of the spectrum (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet), namely red and yellow are too glaring for normal daytime use. Yellow especially, is used for night hunting or when painful contrast is needed. Especially during shooting. Red is plain disastrous. Green is usually used for pilots. (I have no idea why) Yup.

So why did I get orange? Well, it’s special prescriptive lenses. Although it’s orange, you don’t feel the orange tinge AT ALL while wearing it. From Japan. It only comes in blue and orange. With all the benefit of UV protection, multicasting yada yada yada. Basically it’s branded stuff, which costs $180. Guess what? It only came up to $160 with my frames. Think it’s a “special friend” price. He did say he’ll try to keep within my budget of $160. Said that there’s a condition though. Wanted me to be filial to Mommy Dearest. Haha Such a sweet guy.

That’s not all man. He’s going to refurbished my blue specs for free. Will send it to the factory for re-matting of the surfaces. Oh man. How nice can one get?

Before I left, he asked if I had a gal friend. Told him no, he quipped that in the future when I do get one, must bring her to see him, so that he can provide mommy with some feedback. Haha. Real funny guy.

Hang On

Almost… Almost done with my “New Year” entry. Just hold your horses a bit.

Gasp

Went to Seven eleven to get me self a loaf of Focasia bread when got an asthma attack. Am alright now. Was damn Freaky though. How ever did that happened? The last attack was months ago man. And bread buying sure ain’t some strenuous activity man. *shrugs*

Note

1. New year celebration
2. Reflections on the past year
3. Bus feeding

The Bear Has Cometh

Guess what? Sandra’s back from Shanghai! Yea! Missed her man. Glad that she came back. Think she misses home too.

Haha hopefully can get to go out with her soon.

Experimento

I know it isn’t healthy but Yakult and Vodka goes very well together. Snapple’s a blast with vodka too. Esp. the Mango flavoured one. Yummy!

I Wonder…

Wonder how are Yushan’s bashes coming along? Hope everything is going on smoothly.

And We Met Again

Had a class gathering the other day. Sorta a bbq at Lucas’s place. It was the Saturday after Xmas. The Xmassy spirit was still lingering in the air. Plus the décor at his place helped. Xmas tree and all.

Let’s see. Who turned up? Peifang, Peishan, Liyi, Yanmei, Yifang, Daeyna, Pearly, Ming, Kenny, Benedict and me. There were more initially, but some had last minute commitments to attend too, I was pretty upset at first regarding the low turn out. Until Yifang came along and chided me.

She said, “ Don’t worry about the turn out. We’ll have fun even if only five people turn up. Why? Because those who made an effort to are those who sincerely and genuinely wants to meet up and have fun.”

I felt pretty bad after that. What she said was kinda true. I shouldn’t be so preoccupied with who’s going and who’s not. It’s not the quantity right?

Hahaha the bbq was quite a blast. Haven’t seen some of them in a while. The food was great too! Auntie’s potato salad and garlic rice was scrumptious! Haha. Luc opened a bottle of wine and Bailey’s Irish cream. Tried it for the first time. Thick, creamy and yummy. It’s nice but too rich for me. Grins.

Oh! We had a gift exchange! Haha sorta drew lots and I gave mine to Ming! Hahaaha it was lavender shower gel from the scent shop! Haha just nice for after archery showers. Liyi picked me. Guess what? It was shower gel too! Lime and mint gel from the body shop. Smelled absolutely heavenly! As for Xmas pressie, got Ming Baci choc. Lip balm and lip-gloss for Fang. Haha still haven’t passed peanut hers. So won’t disclose it as yet. Ming got me some puzzle thingy, great company in the store. Haha!

Pool with Miss Goh

Played pool the other day with Lingzhi at Poolitix. It’s been a while since I went there. As usual, had loads of fun. Love that place. Great music.

Had Subway for dinner after that.
